Marieke Vreeken (1989) is een mensenrechtenjurist en schrijver. Waar haar mensenrechtenwerk haar naar internationale organisaties als de Verenigde Naties en de Europese Unie bracht, zoekt ze in haar schrijfwerk juist het meest kleine en kwetsbare op. Ze schrijft op waarheid gebaseerde korte verhalen, essays en gedichten, zowel in het Nederlands als het Engels. Ze publiceerde onder meer in literaire tijdschriften als Hard//hoofd, Op Ruwe Planken en The Other Side of Hope (UK). In 2024 won ze de Poems for Human Rights wedstrijd van de Universiteit Utrecht. Op deze website deelt ze haar publicaties.

Marieke Vreeken (1989) is a human rights lawyer and writer from The Netherlands, currently living in Brussels, Belgium. In contrast to her human rights work in international organizations like the United Nations and the European Union, she zooms in on life at the smallest, most personal level in her writing. She mostly writes essays, poems and (non-fictional) short stories, which have been published in several literary magazines in The Netherlands and the UK. In 2024, she won the Utrecht University Poems for Human Rights competition. She shares her publications on this website.
